Kashmir's "swan song"
Analia Chapter in Edmonds was the setting for an event filled evening,
to say the least. They initiated Carmen Ivey's niece, celebrated a WHOLE
bunch of June and July birthdays and anniversaries, honored Dads/all men,
honored the flag, and to top it off, Sister Marcia Beck was
announced as the other Co-chairman of the 2007-08 Deputy Instructors. Four
Past Grand Matrons, four Past Grand Patrons, and I have to look at the
pictures to figure out how many former Deputy Instructor Chairmens there
were because I lost count. Anyway, Marcia's escort, PGP Don (who was
busting his buttons) bragged that they had kept this a secret even from
Marcia's sister, Sheila. What a fun evening. WM Kim has a great sense
of humor and we all had a lot of fun. So, everyone is in place for the new
year. Hugs to all and we hope you will join us in Yakima as the Magic
Carpet ride continues.

New Grand Representative
T'was a grand night in Prosser as Grand Organist Janie Larson played a
fine tune to honor FRANCES BARBER as a long-time Chapter Organist, and to
honor GLENDA MILLER as the "just" past GR to Maryland and to hand her the
pin to formally put on RITA EDIE as the NEW GRAND
REPRESENTATIVE TO MARYLAND!
What fun as the room errupted in cheers for a very, very
surprised Rita (and hubby Bill). I have never felt so
welcomed.........! The entire evening was a delight!
Star hugz and Best Wishes to Rita........who's smile lights up the sky!

SPRING IS HERE!
The gray winter is coming to a close and with the turning of a fresh,
new spring comes a multitude of vibrant colors that we've all missed.
Many of these colors can be found in the fruits and vegetables that
will soon be at their peak. There is no better time than now to start
adding more of these fruits and veggies to your diet.
Consuming a variety of fruits and vegetables provides a wide range of
vitamins, minerals and fiber that our bodies use to maintain good health
and energy levels.
Phytochemicals, and other compounds, are what give fruits and
vegetables their colors and make them so good for us; which is exactly why
it's important to get a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables into our
daily diets.

Happy Birthday Sister Edna ...
Connie, please , if possible, add this to your newsletter:
Vineland Chapter, Clarkston, is honored and privileged to have a 100
year young lady, Edna Tierney, birthday is Thursday,
June 7th. She married Leo Tierney, in 1930, during the
depression, didn't have a wedding cake, so now her church ladies had a
3-tiered one for her! They raised 5 children, one set of twins. Her
husband has died, all five of her children remembered her big day, two
were here to help her celebrate. We had special cake at our meeting on
Tuesday.. She volunteers at the hospital, plays cards, an officer for
Star. She is a delight for us. This was front page article in The
Lewiston Morning Tribune, with her picture, today, June 7th.

Fun Evening ....
Dear Connie,
It is almost midnight. Steve and I are just now home from Analia
Chapter. What a special evening we had with initiating Kathy Arthurs,
Carmen Ivey's niece into Analia Chapter. Kathy is fourth generation of
Masonic family. Carmen presented her with her grandmother's Eastern Star
pin. There were 95 Analia Members and visitors sharing this special evening.
Of course, we knew something else was about to happen, and to our
wonderful surprise, the Westside Chairman of the Deputy Instructors was
announced by Sister Marjoe. Our Sister, Marcia Beck was
announced pleasantly surprising many people including her own sister,
Sheila! Jr. Past Matron, Marleta Moran was announced as a
Grand Page at Grand Chapter. Our birthday night was made even more special
with each of these events.
Just wanted to share this special evening with you!
Star Love,
** Jean Pennington

Masonic Books online ...
Connie,
For lack of significant local interest, I
donated my library of scanned Masonic books to the site known as “PhoenixMasonry.”
Please see the dramatically increasing inventory of Masonic books online at

As a start to the Eastern Star materials, witness
Engle’s history of the Eastern Star –
As time goes on, more Eastern Star materials will
be electronically published at the site. Hopefully, there will be much more
in the near future. As it is uploaded to the internet, I’ll keep you
informed.

AND A WORD FROM YOURS TRULY
Tonight is granddaughter #2's (Kerina's) graduation from Cheney High
School where she will be graduating with Honors. This past Wednesday
evening, they received their honors ... (different than when I was in
school, boy howdy!) Gotta brag though as she received a $1,000 scholarship
from the Rotary Club and numerous certificates, etc. I was surprised that
she will NOT be able to keep her 'cords' that she will be wearing this
evening. Hmmm! Anyway, she HAD to take after OUR side of the family!
LOL! But ... I will remind her this evening ... that The
Tassel is Worth the Hassle! (Thanks for the saying, Sister
Dianna M. Gillard! I see we both have grand-younguns graduating this
year!) Kerina is planning a career in Dental Hygiene of whatever it
is called ... she spent this last year or so as a Running Start student so
has completed more than a year of college at Eastern Washington University.
She has worked hard for these glories!
No time at all to sit and visit! Will be away from THIS computer for a
week or so as we will be at Grand Lodge and then Oregon Grand Chapter, but
will check my email daily! So we'll visit soon! And hopefully, nothing
earth shaking will happen between now and then!
Until
next time ... Hearty Patriot Hugs and happy thoughts.
