BEFORE I WAS A MOM

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Chewed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

A Magic Carpet is soon going to soar,
'Bove the State of Washington, passing o'er and o'er.

Who will join in the fun, when the new Grands will reign?

Amid rolling hills the carpet will come to rest,
At a Chapter that "remains," and will give us its best.
The first Monday of May, seven thirty 'tis the time.
We hope you will join us for this rare find.

CLUE # 2
The carpet continues, passing city and vale,
Searching hither and yon for members to hail.

Celestial beings circle round us this night;
The second Wednesday of May the carpet takes flight.

A cherished member will be joining those who represent all.

Seven thirty's the hour, now don't you be late.
As Tony the Tiger says, "It will be just GR-R-R-R--E-A-T!!"

Grand Ruth, Doris
Last week, our Grand Ruth, Doris Edwards fell in their house and fractured her hip.  According to her hubby Bill, surgery was preformed and the procedure went just as planned, with pins installed to strengthen the bone that was broken, and as all the pieces of bone had remained in place, just the pinning was required.  GOOD NEWS, huh!
She is currently in Moses Lake Hospital and I know that she would appreciate cards.

The Penny ...
HI Connie,
Our local newspaper has a column by a doctor who just wrote about the zinc penny being put on insect stings to ease the pain.  Guess it does work for some things.  He;s the same doctor who advocates putting a bar of soap under the sheet on your bed to prevent leg cramps in the night.
We have 18 quail eggs in a pot of gardenias on our front courtyard.  They should be hatching in about two weeks.  The baby quail look like a cotton ball on toothpicks.  Last year we were lucky enough to see them hatch.

Oklahoma OES Memorial
We will be celebrating 100 years of OES in Oklahoma in March, 2009.
We will be constructing a beautiful memorial garden on the grounds of the Eastern Star office in historic Guthrie, Oklahoma, and as mentioned we are selling bricks, pavers, benches, etc. to help with the cost. There will be a number of brick paths, paver walls, resting benches, a memorial altar, decorative plants and trees.  Since the construction will be ongoing, your early contributions will be greatly appreciated as plans are in progress for the placement of the benches, etc.
Oklahoma OES will be having a blow-out celebration of our 100 years in Oklahoma in March, 2009. Much more information will be coming on that, and, of course, the dedication of the Memorial Garden will be made at that time.
Please come to Oklahoma Grand Chapter October 14 thru 17 in Guthrie, and/or to Sister Barbara and Brother Bill's homecoming October 13, 2007 in Oklahoma City. We will have the Architectural drawings on display for all to see at that time.

Kansas tornado ...

As most of you have heard we here in Kansas had a very large wedge tornado go through several towns. Greensberg KS is now being reported as be 100% damaged. This means not only is there severe damage where the tornado did hit but everything in the town is has a problem. The downtown was completely destroyed. That also includes the Masonic Lodge where Star of Hope Chapter #193 OES was located. This was not a pretty storm the tornado was 1/2 mile to 1 mile wide, and stayed on the ground for many mile and many hours, it started in Oklahoma producing tornados and was still going at 4 AM around Belleville
KS,near the Nebraska Line. The last time we had a town completely destroyed was the Udall in 195? (I was not around for that one) Please keep our sisters and brothers in your prayers in this area for they have a lot of work to do. I will try and keep you up to date on what is happening.

Travels with Worthy Grand Esther, Linda ...
Greetings all,
I am so pleased to represent my 2 Chapters, Idaho Grand Chapter, and to serve General Grand Chapter as Worthy Grand Esther for 2006-2009.
It was my pleasure to attend 2 Powwows in Tulsa, Oklahoma in July previous to Installation.  The first was for the General Grand Chapter Officers and the second was for all of the General Grand Chapter Appointments and Tri-line Officers.  A great time was had at both events.  We gleaned much information which will be used for this Triennium.
The Installation of Officers for General Grand Chapter was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 2nd.  Dave was my escort and my Dad, Lavell Paige, PGP, served as my Idaho Flag Bearer, escorted by my Mom Kittie.  We were so very proud on this wonderful evening.  This was a great experience for all of us, and there are some very good pictures and articles in the last issue of the Eastern Star Journal.
It was great to have a number of our Idaho members in attendance.  Our General Grand Chapter Committee Members were Installed at this time as well.  As was our Friend of a Feather, Sister Zel Engle.  We are proud of them all.  They and their escorts looked beautiful.
The General Grand Chapter Officers presented 2 schools of Instruction.  First for those Grand Chapters under GGC and then a separate one for those Chapters directly under General Grand.  This was an experience!!
It was an honor to have attended Arkansas Grand Chapter in December.  Dave and I were pleased to pick up 3 car loads of GGC Officers and escorts to attend the events of R&R in January in Laughlin, NV.  A good time was had by all, and we made many lasting friendships.  Dave and I traveled with 3 buses of OES friends to the Official Visit in Monterrey, Mexico in February.  This was an exciting adventure, with excellent foods and shopping.  This was a visit to a Spanish speaking Chapter.
In March, I had the pleasure of flying to San Antonio, Texas, and meeting up with OES friends for a bus trip to Guadalajara, Mexico.  We traveled to Ajijic, located at Lake Chapala, and were pleased to participate in the institution of the newest OES Chapter there.  They are English speaking so we initiated 23 new Sisters and Brothers and held Installation of Officers the same day.  What a wonderful experience for me as Worthy Grand Esther to participate in this once in a lifetime adventure.  The bus trip was grueling but nonetheless fun.  The following website contains many pictures that were taken by a professional photographer on this day: http://www.pbase.com/shmiller/star.
    >From there I traveled with friends to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Grand Chapter for their OV.  In April, I was pleased to travel for OVs in Jackson, Mississippi; Topeka, Kansas; Ocean City, Maryland; Farmington, Connecticut and finally Washington DC.  What a wonderful time I had seeing many old friends and making new ones along the way.  I had personally taken about 400 pictures on this trip, but my camera was stolen in Louisiana, so all of those pictures are gone......
I had the wonderful pleasure of seeing new country and sights as well as a few days staying at the OES International Headquarters in Washington DC.  On day 2, I think I finally learned my way about the building.  I have a new respect and appreciation for our Right Worthy Grand Secretary, the Building Administrator and how very hard they work, each and
every day to make our Headquarters a property which we can all be proud to say we have ownership in.
I was sorry to be unable to attend the International Exchange at Worley this year.  It just did not work out.  This last trip I was gone for 24 days, so was most anxious to return home.
I am going to be home most of the month of May with personal business.  I will be gone most of June with Idaho Grand Chapter, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
I am looking forward to seeing many old friends again in our travels.  I just wanted to let you know what I was doing in my travels as your General Grand Chapter Esther, and let you know how very proud I am to be a part of this wonderful and great adventure.  I am adding these memories to all of the other wonderful days of my Eastern Star Life.
With Star Love and Bear Hugs,
** Linda Hattrick, Worthy Grand Esther, PGM Idaho, Meridian #66 and Miriam #16

Heat Pump has been sold ...
Hey Ms. Connie,
Thanks for putting the info on our heat pump in the latest addition of Stars. I'm pleased to report the unit was sold to a local lady here in Brewster. Our lodge will receive a donation from her for our Bikes for Books program. Sure beats hauling a perfectly good heat pump and furnace off to the recyclers.

Good one ...
Connie,
Received this from my  brother in New Hampshire.  He got a kick out of it as our brother  who lives in Massachusetts not only belongs to the Shrine but is a former Massachusetts State Trooper.  Thought you would get a laugh too.
** Phyllis Hippler, Grand Representative of Delaware

SMART TROOPER
A Maine State Trooper pulled a car over on I-95 about 12 miles south of the New Brunswick/ Maine state line. When the Trooper asked the driver why he was speeding, the driver answered that he was a magician and a juggler and he was on his way to Bangor to do a show that night at the Shrine Circus and didn't
want to be late. The Trooper told the driver he was fascinated by juggling, and if the driver would do a little juggling for him then he wouldn't give him a ticket.
The driver told the Trooper that he had sent all of his equipment on ahead and didn't have anything to juggle.
The Trooper told him that he had some flares in the trunk of his patrol car and asked if he could juggle them. The juggler stated that he could, so the Trooper got three flares, lit them and handed them to the juggler. While the man was doing his juggling act, a car pulled in behind the patrol car. A drunk, good old boy, from Limestone, got out and watched the performance briefly.   He then went over to the patrol car, opened the rear door and got in. The Trooper observed him doing this and went over to the patrol car, opened the door and asked the drunk what he thought he was doing. The drunk replied, "You might as well take me to jail, there's no way I can pass that test."

THOSE FILING FOR OFFICE ...
April 2, 2007

    5.  No electioneering is permitted by anyone other than the candidate who has filed for a particular elective office.  A candidate who has filed for a particular office may state her or his Eastern Star history, length of membership, work with any Masonic Youth Groups, but may NOT say, write or circulate anything either on paper or by electronic means, about any other candidate for any office.  All candidates, EXCEPT those filing for the office of Grand Secretary or Grand Treasurer, shall fill out a Uniform Candidate Information Sheet to be sent to all Chapters with Notice of Filings and be printed in the Advanced Reports for the Grand Chapter Session.  The resumes of the candidates for the offices of Grand Secretary and Grand Treasurer shall also be included with the Notice of Filing for Office.  A candidate may not circulate anything either orally, electronically, or written other than a Uniform Information Sheet.  A candidate may state only that which pertains to Eastern Star about her or himself.  The candidate may NOT ask, suggest or encourage members to vote for or against any other candidate.  Electioneering shall be defined to mean a member soliciting another member or members, either orally or in writing, by a letter, circular letter, pamphlet, cards, favors, electronic means, et cetera, to vote for or against any other candidate for office.  Electioneering is asking or telling others to vote for a candidate instead of oneself.  A candidate does not have the right or privilege to “give up” his or her votes to another candidate.  Introduction of candidates does not constitute electioneering as above defined.  Therefore, once the official Grand Chapter Candidate filing notification and Uniform Candidate Information Sheet issued by the Grand Secretary has been received and read by Chapter Secretaries in their respective Chapters, candidates for Grand Chapter offices may be introduced at all Chapters, luncheons, dinners and other Eastern
Star functions.  Only those candidates in attendance at any Eastern Star function will be so introduced.

MOTHERS

Why did God Make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me.  He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and  one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?
1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world.  And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that 's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your mom do in her spare time?
1 Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect.  Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean.  I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

Fun day with the Brethren of Hermanos del Arte Lodge
(5/1)  Brothers if you weren't at McDonalds in Brewster at noon yesterday you missed out on something extra special.  Yours truly, acting as chauffeur, backed up a black caddie stretch limo to the front entrance of the Brewster Grade School to pick up the Brewster G.S. ASB Officers and their advisor, Ms. Kim Moore. I was immediately mobbed by the kids who were on their lunch break in the play ground wanting to know who I was, what I was there for, what kind of car I was driving, could they have a ride or at least set in the limo.
Ms Moore and the ASB Officers, 5th and 6th graders, joined me for pictures with the limo taken by our local newspaper. Then it was off to McDonald's for lunch, course we had to drag main street first.
At McDonalds we were joined by several HdA Brethren and their ladies and enjoyed a Big Mac with all the trimmings with the students. Hermanos del Arte was of course hosting the outing but upon asking the manager of McDonalds to please have one bill for our guest the manager informed us that McDonalds was hosting the students and their advisor for lunch. What a pleasant surprise and completely unexpected on HdA's part.
After lunch the students were given a tour of McDonalds, took a drive up order, prepared a Big Mac, were shown how french fries were made, and given an ice cream cone and invited to make themselves an ice cream cone.
Then it was back in the limo for the return trip to Brewster G.S. Course we had to drag main again.
Office staff at the G.S., Ms Moore, and our local paper took many pictures and there will be an article in our local paper.
Hermanos del Arte is indebted to Mr. Mike Isenhard (our local vet) for the use of the limo and to the manager and employee's at McDonalds for their participation. Our Sec., WB Bob Hill, is preparing certificates of appreciation to both parties which we will present sometime next week.
What a fun day for those of us who were able to take part. This is something these young kids will remember the rest of their lives as well as their advisor. The day the Masons took them out to lunch in a limo. Funny thing about Ms. Moore. Her husband owns a furniture store on main street and she asked if I would pull up in front of the store (took 4 parking spots) so she could run in and have her husband come out and take her picture setting in the limo. Ms. Moore was as excited about the day as the kids were.
As our Gr. Sec. is fond of saying, "It was a great day to be a Mason."

LOWRY'S HINTS

HINT 1:  Bubble Gum Stuck:  To remove bubble gum or any type of gum from hair, simply spread peanut butter on the area and wash!  It comes out like magic because of the oil.

HINT 4:  Goodbye to Split Ends:  Add a few drops of lavender oil to a tablespoon of warm (not boiling) castor or sweet oil. Apply just to the ends of your hair. Frosted Chicken Salad
From Country Woman

Ever since I was tall enough to reach the stove, I've enjoyed cooking. This recipe's one of my favorites—it's so simple, I can make it the night before, throw on the topping at the last minute and take it to a picnic or family gathering. Both my husband and I have lived on farms all of our lives. We grow corn, soybeans and wheat. Our three sons are grown, and we're now the grandparents of six. I've had a job in town since back surgery took me off the tractor. In addition to cooking, I love working in my flower garden—and I'm a big fan of stock car racing, too!

SALAD:
2 cups diced unpeeled red apples
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 cups diced cooked chicken
3/4 cup salad dressing
1/2 cup sliced seedless green grapes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 cups chopped celery

FROSTING:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup salad dressing
Lettuce leaves
Sliced apples and grapes for garnish

DIRECTIONS:  Line 1-1/2-qt. bowl with plastic wrap. Combine all salad ingredients and gently press into the bowl. Cover; chill several hours. Carefully unmold onto a plate lined with a bed of lettuce leaves. Combine the cream cheese and salad dressing; frost salad. Garnish with apples and grapes. Chill for several hours. Yield: 6 servings.

MISS HILDA'S FAVA BEANS
from Essence Of Emeril EE44

1 pound dry fava beans, soaked overnight in cold water to cover
Salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 pound chorizo, chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
2 cups homemade or prepared tomato sauce
4 cups water
Salt and Pepper

Drain fava beans and rinse them under cold running water. Transfer beans to a large saucepan or soup pot with enough cold water to cover. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmering and cook until tender, 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Skim foam from surface and add more water, if needed. Add salt, to taste, in last 1/2 hour of cooking. Remove from heat and allow beans to cool in their liquid at least 30 minutes.
In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat and add chorizo, onion and green pepper. Sauté, stirring and breaking up sausage, until browned and onion is tender, 5 to 7 minutes. Add parsley, garlic, red pepper flakes and drained fava beans. Cook, stirring, 1 minute. Stir in tomato sauce and 4 cups water; season to taste with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmering. Cook, stirring once or twice, until flavors are combined and beans are very tender, 25 to 30 minutes.   Yield: 4 to 6 servings

JOKES

A nursery school teacher was delivering a station wagon full of kids home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the fire truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started to discuss the dog's duties.
"They use him to keep crowds back," said one youngster.
"No," said another, "he's just for good luck."
    "I know!" said a third...
"They use it to find the fire hydrant!"

I remember an old car I used to own. You know the kind, ratty and raggedy, driven when I was a poor college student. I was having trouble with something I couldn't readily identify myself, so I took it into the shop.
The mechanic looked at it a couple of minutes and said, "What you really need is the radiator cap solution."
"Oh," I said, trying not to sound too confused. "Do you mean the radiator cap isn't holding enough pressure?"
"That's part of the problem" he said. "What you really need to do is lift the radiator cap and drive another car under it. Then the next day you can replace the radiator cap, and it should solve your problem."

  • A man called 911 and said: "Please connect me to Switzerland."
  • A lady called 911 because of a fight going on in a parking lot. When asked to describe the combatants, she said: "I'll try. There's one man, and he's dressed like Elvis. He's kicking another man who's laying on the ground and screaming 'You Ain't nothing but a hound dog.'"
  • Another person called to report he had the hiccups.
  • A thirteen-year-old boy called to report he had "stuff" coming from his navel. Paramedics examined the boy and all they found was belly-button lint.

LET HIM DIG

An old man and woman were married for many years, even though they hated each other. When they had a confrontation, screaming and yelling could be heard deep into the night. The old man would shout, "When I die, I will dig my way up and out of the grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!"

Neighbors feared him. They believed he practiced black magic -- because of the many strange occurrences that took place in their neighborhood.

The old man liked the fact that he was feared. To everyone's relief, he died of a heart attack. His wife had a closed casket at the wake.  After the funeral, she went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there was no tomorrow.

Her neighbors, concerned for her safety, asked, "Aren't you afraid that he may indeed be able to dig his way up and out of the grave and come back to haunt you for the rest of your life?"

The wife put down her drink and said, "Let him dig. I had him buried upside down...."

"Dogs Welcome"

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation.

He wrote: I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"

An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote: "I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too.

HELOISE

  • Cleaning Bamboo Window Blinds:  Dust or clean often just with a soft brush or the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner. Never wash with citric-based cleaners or over-wet with water because it could damage the blinds.
  • Cleaning Varnished Woodwork:  If you want to get rid of fingerprints, make a solution of 1-part vinegar and 2 parts water and wipe the dirty area. Then use a dry cloth to polish the woodwork.
  • Aluminum Siding Dirty?  To get rid of the dirt, simply attach a car-washing brush to a hose. Point the water directly onto the really dirty areas and rinse the house thoroughly about twice a year.
  • Long Hallway Needs Decorating?  Organize a "gallery" showing of your family's life story in pictures.  Arrange them from weddings to grandchildren on the wall. Have all the frames be similar in color or material for a cohesive and attractive look.
  • Keep a Cooler in the Trunk of Your Car ... Add an ice pack or two to an ice chest when you go to the store, particularly in the summer, so you can keep your purchases like milk and ice cream cool until you get home.

AND A WORD FROM YOURS TRULY

Gotta tell you what happened at 7 bells on Tuesday morning, May 1st, at our house.  The door bell rang ... and since Ted was closest to his britches, he slipped them on and opened the door.  There sat a geranium in a nice pot ... and a card!  It read:  'The nicest kind of day ... is one that's filled with thoughts ... of someone special.  Just wanted you to know ... It's that kind of day ... and you are that kind of person!  HAPPY MAY DAY!'  And was signed by our wonderful neighbors Lori & Dave.  Apparently she does this for her mother, sisters, and close friends.  I haven't thought about this tradition in years ... but once upon a time when I was a mite younger, I would go in town and stay with my Aunt and Grandpa.  My Aunt and I would make little May baskets and fill them with cut flowers and then she would deliver me around town to deliver the little baskets.  BUT she was a friend with the lady up on the hill who was the guardian of her grandson.  Now that grandson was something else ... a mean little kid whom I did NOT like, but my aunt said that I had to give him one.  She finally said that I could leave it behind the sofa and hopefully, he would find it.  (I tell ya!  If it was my house, I probably wouldn't find it for QUITE awhile!)  I have no idea if he did indeed find it!  I was told that when you left the basket on the door knob and rang the door bell, you try NOT to get caught as the receiver of the flowers gotta kiss ya!  YIKES!
We had a great time at Hands Across the Border last evening which was hosted by BC & Yukon!  I was pleased that there were four other Grand Chaplains in attendance ... the Grand Chaplains of the Grand Chapters of BC & Yukon, Idaho, Oregon, and Alberta!  WOW!  There were five of us!!!  The BC Grand Chaplain gave the blessing and he did great, too!  Then each of the Jurisdictions had to put on a skit!  You would have been proud of your Grand Officers.  WGP Terry narrated as eight of us played our bottles while the rest of us sang (which included our WGM Joanne) the tune of Do-Re-Mi!  It was even recognizable!!!  Then we did the Penguin Shuffle ... dance ... or whatever to a cute song directed by Grand Conductress Diane!  We all wore penguin pajamas (except our WGP) ... and some of us even wore penguin slippers!  I never had any slippers so Grand Secretary Sandy loaned me Brother Ken's slippers!  Then I had to share ... so Grand Marshal Becky and I each wore one slipper!  We found out, however, on our trek to the stage, that penguin walks can be dangerous!  Grand Adah Gen got her flip-flops tangled up with something or other and fell flat ... on her right arm!  She is so fortunate that nothing BROKE ... whether it be her arm, her nose, her glasses, whatever!  So Grand Family of 2007-2008???  We are going to be a hard act to follow!!!!!!
You notice that there are more reminders?  I received Ode Cards this week from Bonnie Hill (Adelphi Chapter); Bobbie Reynolds (Pacific Chapter); Judy Battin-Sellers (Centralia Chapter); Betty Kissell (Everett Chapter); Kay Schroeder (Tula Chapter); & Carmen Ivy (Analia Chapter).
Until next time ... Hearty Patriot Hugs and happy thoughts.
