CORRECTION

I have one correction for you from your latest Stars.  Per WGM Ann, all members of Washington Grand Chapter, including the Past Grands and the WGM and WGP will pick up their registration and credentials from their Chapter, not from distinguished guests.  The only people who should pick up their registration from distinguished guests are the out-of-state visitors.  Otherwise, they will have to pick up their registration and then get into another line to pick up their credentials and that's what we're trying to avoid.  I saw Ann at Oregon's Grand Chapter and verified this with her.  Sorry for any confusion.

EASY TICK REMOVAL
A School Nurse has written the info below --  good enough to share.  And it really  works!!
I had a pediatrician  tell me what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great , because it works in those  places where it's some times difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a  head full of dark hair,  etc.
Apply a glob of liquid  soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few  seconds (15-20), the tick will come out on it's own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it  away.
This technique has worked every  time I've used it (and that was frequently), and it's much less traumatic for the patient and easier for me.  Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see that this would be damaging in any way. I even had my doctor's wife call me for advice because she had one  stuck to her back and she couldn't reach it with tweezers.  She used this method and immediately  called me back to say, "It  worked!"
Please pass on everyone needs this helpful  hint.
** Thanks, Ted!

Oops!
Thanks for the plug in the "Stars" for the Journal, Connie. Not that it's that important, but I think Donna Bigl from Alberta would not like for me to be Worthy Grand Martha. I'll stick with Worthy Grand ELECTA instead, ok? (I know yours was just a typo because you and I have talked about this. I just don't want to confuse anyone.) The main thing is that your members stop by and pick up some subscription blanks! (Hope you don't mind my teasing you.)
Now let me again congratulate you on your appointment and wish you the best for the year ahead.
Fraternal love,
** Jo Bornholdt, Worthy Grand Electa, Chairman/Editor Eastern Star Journal

Remember members ... stop by Registration and pick up your subscription form.  It's a great magazine!  And sorry, Sister Jo!  As I said ... I know that you know that I know you are Worthy Grand Electa.  NOTE:  We are having Sister Donna Bigl from Alberta attend our Grand Chapter.  And she is indeed our Worthy Grand Martha!

LOWRY'S HINTS

HINT 1   Sparkling Clean Jacuzzi:  Here is a great way to get your Jacuzzi sparkling clean, get yourself some automatic dishwashing detergent (Cascade, Electrosol, etc., preferably with bleach).  Fill your tub as full as possible without overflowing with hot water.  Depending on the size of your tub, put anywhere from 3 to 6 cups of detergent into the full "hot" tub and turn it on. Keep the jets on for 20-30 minutes. You won't get the "Bubbles" because the detergent doesn't bubble. You won't believe how your tub sparkles. No more ring around the Jacuzzi! For your regular tub, let sit for a few hours then clean it out with soft brush that you use for cleaning.

HINT 2:   Candle Wax Removed From Wood.  Soften the wax with a hair dryer. Remove wax with a paper towel and wash with a solution of vinegar and water.
        * * * * * * * * * *
HINT 3:  Use direct withdrawal on every bill as possible. This not only includes monthly items but things such as insurance. The main idea here is to SAVE
STAMPS. A typical household can save over $40.00 per year on stamp costs by using direct with-drawal. This is a Secure system.
