Clue # 11

It's time to make our family complete
We think it's one that can't be beat.
It's time to go for the last ride in our car
To introduce our final star.
Make one last journey east, on I-90 you will go
Just past George will be the exit, one you'll know
The chapter you'll find after this journey's test is a good place to rest.
             See you Monday, June 5th @ 8:00 p.m.
** Joanne Clark, AGM

Grand Chapter News ....
To our Washington members:
Grand Chapter is quickly approaching and we hope that you have all sent in your registrations.  Remember, the deadline for pre-registering is June 10th.  This year it is even more important that you pre-register because doing so will speed up your registration and credentials process.  For the first time, registration, credentials and the tellers will be sharing tables at Grand Chapters.  For most of you who have pre-registered, it will be a one stop process.  Everything will be done alphabetically by Chapter name.  You will stop at the table for your Chapter and pick up your badge, credentials and Grand Chapter information packet all at the same time.
If you are a Top 4 officer or have a proxy for a Top 4 officer, you will need to make one additional stop to pick up your extra ballots.  Please remember, that to present a proxy, you must be a Past Matron or Past Patron from that Chapter and you can only present proxies from the Chapter from which you are registered.  They must be signed by the Chapter Secretary, have the Chapter seal affixed and be signed by the person from whom you received the proxy.  Incomplete proxies will not be allowed.
We are hoping to make the registration and credentials process quicker for everyone this year and will be looking forward to your comments about our new procedures.   If you need registration forms, you can download them from our website at www.washingtonoes.org.

Thanks for prayers ....
Tony and I want to sincerely thank everyone and I mean everyone from all corners of our wonderful state for the prayers, well wishes, cards, phone calls and e-mail sent during Tony's recent set back.
Let me tell you all the prayers do work ! !   He is back to his fun loving self already.  Now, only after two weeks he has been released from the Doctor not to be seen again for 3 months, as a check up only.  He is back to driving in that short time as well.  He says he's ready to get back to all the work he has lined up.  And, of course back to visiting along our wonderful Eastern Star Trail.
We love you all and thank you for your concern.
Hugs,

Camera left ...
A Cannon camera was left at Martha Chapter on Dick's Honor Night.  It was in a black case and I know someone must be looking for it by now so if you could help us locate the person we would appreciate it.  It was left in the dining room and so I brought it home with me.
It looks like an expensive camera but there was no name anywhere so have no idea who it belongs too.
    Thanks for your help.

MASONIC NEWS
Hi Connie, Will you please make a correction for Skykomish Lodge #259 Meeting for me.  June 1 is a stated meeting at 7:30 PM, refreshments and Social Hour after the Meeting… On Saturday June 3rd will be our Fisherman’s Potluck at 2 PM. This was changed by our members so more family members, wives, children, grandchildren, and or sweethearts may enjoy the Masonic Family fellowship that Skykomish Lodge is known for. Thank you for all you have done to help our Lodge.  This is our last meeting before going dark. Talk to you in the Fall.
    Sincerely and Fraternally
** Bill Wade WM
Ooops!  Sorry this is late getting into the STARS, Brother!  Do hope that you had a great Fisherman's Potluck!  Sounds like fun and GOOD!

LOWRY'S HINTS

HINT 1:  The Eye Of The Beholder:  Spray a bit of hair spray on your finger and apply it to the end of a thread. The thread will harden just enough to ease it into the eye of the needle.

HINT 2:  Home Sweet Home.  Add a few drops of vanilla to the water of your humidifier to add a sweet fragrance to your home.

RECIPES

Hearty Taco Casserole
>From Light & Tasty

2/3 cup uncooked brown rice
1-1/3 cups plus 4 to 5 tablespoons water, divided
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cold butter

FILLING:
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup water
1 envelope taco seasoning
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded lettuce
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
3/4 cup salsa
1/2 cup fat-free sour cream

DIRECTIONS:  In a small saucepan, bring rice and 1-1/3 cups water to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30-35 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in enough remaining water to form a soft dough. On a floured surface, roll dough into a 12-in. x 8-in. rectangle. Press into a 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 400° for 13-15 minutes or until very lightly browned.
For filling, in a large nonstick skillet, cook the beef, onion, green pepper and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add water, taco seasoning and cooked rice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 2-3 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat. Stir in eggs and cilantro. Spread over crust.
Cover and bake for 15-17 minutes or until filling is set. Cut into squares. Top with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Serve with salsa and sour cream. Yield: 8 servings.

SOME JOKES

I pulled into a crowded parking lot and rolled down the car windows to make sure my golden retriever had plenty of fresh air.  The dog was stretched out on the back seat and I wanted to impress upon her that she must remain there.  I walked to the curb backward, pointing my finger at the car and saying emphatically, "Now, you stay. Do you hear me? Stay! Stay!"
The driver of a nearby car, perhaps noticing I was blonde, and not seeing the dog .. gave me a strange look and said,  "Why don't you just put it in park"?

AND A WORD FROM YOURS TRULY ...

Haven't any time to report happenings ... or mishappenings!  We are leaving for 'somewhere' today and then Grand Lodge in Ocean Shores for a week!  I believe I need the rest!  Rest?  What's that???  Just received an email from First Lady, Nancy Jorgensen (wife of Grand Master Al) who said that 179 ladies  had registered.  Those going on the tour - 121, and there will be 151 at the luncheon on Friday!  WOW!  I believe this is the largest turn-out I have ever witnessed ... and we started on the Grand Lodge 'circuit' when George Jurgich was Grand Master.   See what happens when you change from the 'norm'?  The 'norm' is usually in Wenatchee.  Next year ... will be a different place all together, too!  Stay tuned!
Star hugs and happy thoughts.  AND REMEMBER:  Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them but you always know they are there!
