TIME PASSED ME BY
Now ain’t it funny when time passes you by
It don’t leave no tracks but in your minds eye
Looking forward to yesterday when it was tomorrow
Ya can’t take the time back or ask time to borrow
Ya have time a coming but then it is all gone
Standing in one place time don’t stay so long
Time stretching out a head even to the horizon and sky
Looking back time is just memories to you and I
Time like the puffy white clouds in a clear blue sky
Changing always changing and then it passes you by
Time O time can’t you stop for a minute and at least say hi
Time never gets old like me it just passes me by
I’m rich with all of the time that I spent
Perhaps if I ask God for more time even to rent
Where O where is all of that time when yesterday was tomorrow
Can’t I reach back to that time and just borrow.

Spider silk is the strongest natural fiber known to man. Most spiders
produce at least five different kinds of silk for various purposes. How do
they keep from getting trapped in their own webs? ANSWER: Spiders have oil
on their bodies and hooked claws that grasp the silk threads. AND NOW YOU
KNOW!

Registration
I wish
to thank all who have sent in their pre-registration forms for Grand
Chapter. It certainly helps ... with planning, etc. Not only does it help
Darlene and myself, but it helps with the making of the introductory cards
that need to be made for our Grand Conductress for introductions. There is
a lot depending on your promptness of submitting your forms. Remember ...
you can go online at
www.washingtonoes.org and print out your own form now instead of waiting
to get a copy.
I have
tried to email each of you back that I had indeed received your form and I
appreciate your answering any questions that I may have. So please! Do try
and make an effort to get your registration forms in ... and make sure that
you put down the offices you hold in your chapter now that you are
installed. It helps, too, to put down the Chapter with the office if you
are a dual member. If you hold an office in two chapters, please include
both. If you have already sent in your form and forgot to include your new
office(s), please drop me a note at
starsofwa@washingtonoes.org
and I will
gladly add the new information on your badge. Thanks.

From the mouths of babes ...
During
a science project, the following statements are remarks made by children:
1. If
you are surrounded by sea you are an Island. If you don't have sea all
around you, you are in continent. (Wayne age 7)
2. Some
fish are dangerous. Jellyfish can sting. Electric eels can give you a
shock. They have to live in caves under the sea where I think they have to
plug themselves to chargers. (Christopher age 7)
3. I
think sharks are ugly and mean, and have big teeth, just like Emily
Richardson. She's not my friend no more. (Kylie age 6)

Salad
I was intrigued by the "Heavenly
Hash Salad." Could you please include the recipe in the S of W?
Thank you.
** Vi
Thompson
Here goes
... this recipe was my mother's and has to be at least 80 years old.
1 c.
coconut
1 c.
crushed pineapple
1 c. sour
cream
2 c.
CUT-UP Marshmallows (it is best if you do NOT use miniature
marshmallows as the cut ones help soak up the goodies)
Let
set overnight in the refrigerator or at least most of the day. YUM!
NOTE: I
have had variations, but I am prejudiced. Nothing is better than the
original recipe.

News of Jane Wullbrandt, Escort of Larry Wullbrandt, PGP, CO
Jane fell in our home today about
11:00 AM (4/18) and suffered 2 fractures in her left shoulder/upper arm
and possible injury to her left hip. We'll
know more about that after she is examined further by an Orthopedist
tomorrow. X-rays at the emergency room did not show a fracture in her
hip but she is in a great deal of pain.
She is home but her activities will be very limited for the next few
weeks.
The address is: 6811 S. Cherokee St., Littleton, CO 80120-3710

(4/19) Good morning,
After spending 12 hours at Kaiser
yesterday, this is what we know.
She has two fractures of the left
Humerus (upper arm); one across and the other up and down, near the top of
the bone. Nothing can be done
surgically for this; it will mend in
time.. She has to keep it immobilized as much as possible and use a sling
for the next 6 - 8 weeks.
She has a fracture in the left hip
socket. This, also, cannot be repaired surgically. This fracture will
also mend itself in time. Movement of any kind is very painful.
The prescription for her recovery
seems to be plenty of rest, pain medication and lots of TLC. It's going
to be a long spring and early summer for her.
We have, of necessity, canceled
our trip to Santa Fe and Trinidad next weekend, the WY/CO fun night and in
all probability the remaining
Official Visits. We will miss being
with everyone.
Jane & I appreciate your prayers,
calls, & e-mails. You, our Eastern Star friends, are our extended family
and we thank you for all your love
and support.
Fraternally,
** Larry Wullbrandt, PGP, Colorado

50-YEAR TEA
January 2006
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
As we enter the new year, we begin to turn
our thoughts to Grand Chapter and the fun we all have as we gather together.
Each year we have the privilege of honoring
our 50-year members with a Tea in the Sundome. These members have been
active the majority of their lives in our beautiful Order and it is such an
honor to know them and to be able to visit with them.
This year the Tea will be held on Wednesday,
June 28th at 10 AM. We are asking that each chapter
provide the names of their 50-year members so we
can be probably prepared to receive and honor
them.
If you have any questions, please don't
hesitate to contact me, either by email, regular mail or by telephone, the

Woman found alive in landfill
Associated Press
April 20, 2006
KENNEWICK – A Kennewick
woman was pulled alive from a Northern California landfill after she
reportedly was carjacked and kidnapped while driving to work.
Rebecca Huston, 32, was last heard from last Wednesday evening. Friends and
family began searching for her after she failed to show up for work at a
veterinary clinic in Richland.
A landfill
employee at the Ukiah Transfer Station in Ukiah, Calif., about 100 miles
north of San Francisco on Highway 101, saw Huston's feet sticking out from a
garbage pile Tuesday morning.
Huston spent
Tuesday night at a hospital where she was treated for a cut head, minor
hypothermia and an undisclosed medical condition, the Tri-City Herald
reported Wednesday.
Huston told
sheriff's deputies in Mendocino County, Calif., that she was driving to work
Thursday morning when a man wearing a ski mask and carrying a gun climbed
into her car, demanding that she drive south.
She told police
the man forced her into a trash bin Monday night and told her not to get
out. The container was emptied into a county garbage truck and the trash was
transported to the landfill.
Kennewick Detective Sgt.
Randy Maynard said it wasn't clear if Huston was knocked unconscious or had
fallen asleep when she went into the trash bin. There was no indication she
had been assaulted.

INSPIRATIONAL REFERENCE
For what I received I passed on to you as of
first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the
Scriptures, and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that,
He appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most
of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. --The Bible,
I Corinthians 15:3-7 (NIV)
PRESIDENTIAL QUOTE
And let us not trust to human effort alone,
but humbly acknowledge the power and goodness of Almighty God who presides
over the destiny of nation, and who has at all times been revealed in our
country’s history, let us invoke His aid and His blessings upon our labors…I
know there is a Supreme Being who rules the affairs of men. --Grover

Greetings from the Inland
Northwest Blood Center! I just wanted to first of all thank Howie for
the added recruitment for the Shriners Chili Feed Blood Drive this
Friday! We look forward to another fun day! I also want to take this
opportunity to mention that we had to put out a press release
yesterday that announced we are fairly low in "O" type blood.
O-positive happens to be the most common blood type at approximately
38% of the population. However, because it is common, it is heavily
used by patients and we happen to have some heavy usage right now in
our local hospitals. The other, O-negative, is the universal blood
type at only 7% of the population. This blood can be transfused to
anyone regardless of their blood type, hence the term "universal".
However, if you have O-negative blood, that is the only type you can
receive. We are somewhat low there as well. I would be remiss,
however, if I did not mention that we need ALL blood types. I hope
you do not mind my added recruitment efforts and hope to see you this
Friday here at INBC. Take care!

LOWRY'S HINTS
HINT 1: DURING CLEANING: Play music. Before you know it,
your adrenaline will start pumping and you'll be dancing your way through
the house.
-toss away everything you don't use. I mean everything! Less clutter
not only makes future dusting easier, it also has a tendency to give us a
freer, more relaxed frame of mind when we enjoy these rooms.
Decorators worldwide are now embracing the simple beauty of barer rooms
for easier living. -Gather the extra items in your life and give them
to charity, or sell them at a spring-time yard sale. Get the whole family
in the act by telling kids that they can keep the profits from selling
toys they no longer use. -Work around the room in one direction, either
left or right. This way, there won't be any time wasted in criss-
crossing the room, or vacuuming that same spot twice. -Clear it off and
put it away. This is really the first step to cleaning any room. In the
living room this means putting away books and recycling old magazines.
Clear away all knickknacks and family photos so that dusting and polishing
can be finished in a snap. In the bedrooms, remove items stored under the
bed, and file away or throw out papers. In the kitchen, remove everything
from counters and take down curtains. In the bathroom, clear away
potpourri holders, magazines, and waste baskets. Take down the shower
curtain and liner for laundering. Just remember to tackle one room at a
time. Remove these items and cleaning will be much easier. -- Wear
rubber gloves! Even though it is harder to grip things with gloves than it
is with bare hands, it is worth using them to protect your skin from the
harshness of hot water and drying chemicals
* * * * * * * * *
HINT 2: AFTER CLEANING: When you're finished cleaning,
it's time to put back those items you need and love. Here are a few
things to keep in mind.
--The only necessary appliances on kitchen counters are the ones that you
use daily or weekly. Stash anything else in cabinets or cupboards. Also,
if you have a counter full of cook books you seldom use, you may want to
put them on a shelf for more living and cooking space. -- Try putting
treasured knickknacks and photos on different tables, shelves, or even in
different rooms. This will give your home a fresh new look.

HINT 3: Recycle part of those disposable cameras!
Before you take them in to get developed, take out the two batteries
that are inside. They are hardly used by the camera.

Cleaning
Children's Plastic Toys:
If you notice
that they are grimy or dirty, do a quick clean simply by wiping them with a
paper towel that's been moistened with rubbing alcohol or use a wet wipe.
-
Protecting Your
Dogs: New research has found that raisins, currents or grapes should
NOT be given to dogs because it can damage their kidneys. Don't let them
chow down on onions or apple cores with seeds; they can cause medical
problems. Don't give pets people food.
-
Cleaning Your
House—Fast: Do what my mother called "top cleaning." That's just to
clean the tops of surfaces that will be seen when guests are in your home.
Put a sock on each hand and wipe off all the dust you see. Forget about
cleaning inside cabinets or under furniture because no one will see the mess
or dust bunnies.
-
Need More
Storage Space in the Bathroom? Put several revolving trays into the
cabinet under the sink to house small bottles. Place a shelf unit over the
toilet for holding towels. Hanging baskets also can be useful.

During the Super Bowl, there was another football game of note between
the big animals and the little animals. The big animals were crushing little
animals and at half time, the coach made a passionate speech to rally the
little animals.
At the start of the second half the big animals had the ball. The first
play, the elephant got stopped for no gain. The second play, the rhino was
stopped for no gain. On third down, the hippo was thrown for a 5 yard loss.
The defense huddled around the coach and he asked excitedly, "Who
stopped the elephant?"
"I did" said the centipede.
"Who stopped the rhino?"
"Uh, that was me too" said the centipede.
"And how about the hippo? Who hit him for a 5 yard loss?"
"Well, that was me as well," said the centipede.
"SO WHERE WERE YOU THE FIRST HALF?" demanded the coach.
"Well" said the centipede, "I was having my ankles taped."

Dan, Bubba and Billy Bob are walking down the street, and they see a
sign on a store which reads, "Suits $5.00 each, shirts $2.00 each, trousers
$2.50
per pair."
Bubba says to his pal, "Billy Bob, Look here! We could buy a whole gob
of these, take 'em back to Sand Mountain, sell 'em to our friends, and make
a
fortune".
"Now when we go in there you be quiet, okay? Just let me do the talkin'
'cause if they hear your accent, they might think we're ig'orant, and not
wanna sell that stuff to us. Now, I'll talk in a slow Georgia drawl so's
they don't know".
They go in and Bubba says with his best fake Georgia drawl, "I'll take
50 of them suits at $5.00 each, 100 of them there shirts at $2.00 each, and
50
pairs of them there trousers at $2.50 each. I'll back up my pickup and ..."
The owner of the shop interrupts, "Ya'll are from Tennessee, ain't you?"
"Well...yeah," says a surprised Bubba...."How come you know that?! "
The owner says, "Because this is a dry-cleaners."

A store that sells wives opens in Dallas, TX,
where a man may go to choose a wife from among many women. The store is
comprised of 6 floors, and the
women increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends the flights.
There is however, a catch: As you open the door to any floor you may
choose a wife from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back
down
except to exit the building... no stopping on any lower floors.
A man goes to the shopping center to find a wife. On the first floor the
sign on the door reads: Floor 1 -These women have jobs.
The man reads the sign and says to himself, "Well, that's better than my
last girlfriend, but I wonder what's further up?"
So up he goes. The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These women have
jobs, love sports, and drink beer. The man smiles to himself, "That's great,
but I
wonder what's further up?"
The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These women have jobs, love
sports, drink beer, and are extremely good looking. "Hmmm, better!" he says.
"But I
wonder what's upstairs?"
The fourth floor sign reads: Floor 4 - These women have jobs, love
sports, drink beer, are extremely good looking and do all the housework.
"Wow!" exclaims the man, "very tempting. But, there must be more, much
more, further up!" He heads up another flight.
The fifth floor sign reads: Floor 5 - These women have jobs, love
sports, drink beer, are extremely good looking, do all the housework and
don't complain
and gripe about anything.
"Hot Darn!... how close to perfect can you get?...But just think...what
must be awaiting me further on?" So up to the sixth floor he goes...
The sixth floor sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 133,956,779,012 to
this floor... There are no women on this floor. This floor exists solely as
proof that men are impossible to please.
Thank you for shopping Wife Mart, and have a
nice day
AND A WORD FROM YOURS TRULY ...
Ah ... to
quote Ralph Waldo Emerson ... Adopt the pace of nature ... her secret is
patience. Yes, nature is being VERY patient this year ... with all of us
on the Eastside of the state. The buds on the trees are just now starting
to swell ... and the only flowers I have blooming is a stray pansy and a
couple of crocuses that survived my 'green' thumb. We have launched the
docks or have I mentioned that before? I just about fell in, but luckily, I
was fleet of foot! Of course, I am not going to mention who ... had to
launch them on one of the coldest and windiest days up here in PO County!
Reminded me of when we used to 'work' the cattle. It would be the coldest,
wettest, and windiest day in Spokane County. Of course, where we used to
live, the wind ALWAYS blows! And where we lived before that ... same thing
(Mojave Desert in CA).
Star hugs
and happy thoughts. AND REMEMBER: Friends are always there to pray for
you, to comfort you, to share your sorrow, and to celebrate your success! A
true friend is someone who knows you're a good egg even if you're a little
cracked!
