The Sixth Annual OES Charity Golf Tournament scheduled for Friday, August 11th at Whispering Firs Golf Course on McChord AFB is off to a running start. Sponsorships for holes are coming in every day. Six chapters (Delta, Southgate, Olympia, Trinity, Sunshine & Grand Coulee Dam) as of March 8th have responded with sponsorships. A check of the past three years (2003-05) hole sponsors shows that there are 12 chapters and 5 Scottish Rite Valleys that have sponsored a hole or a partial hole each of those years. I took the first two years records off my computer so don’t have those. Thought I wouldn’t need them anymore. I’m sure severl of the 12 sponsored those two years as well.
Registration information for the golfers will be available by the end of March. Check the OES Website (www.washingtonoes.org) after that, as the form will be available there to download. A sponsorship form will be on the website as well. Any questions regarding the 2006 tournament can be sent to OESgolf@comcast.net.

Last evening March 14th, at Fellowship Chapter 61 there were 5 Candidates taking their degrees 2 from Fellowship and 3 from Research Chapters. The MKM
and PM Degrees were conferred. MEC Jim Stevens conferred the MKM Degree with a team made of members from Research, Overlake, Fellowship, and
University Chapters. I don't think I left anyone out. VEC Glen Wilson Conferred the PM Degree with the same Chapters participating. All went well and
following the Degrees it was announced that there would be the MEM Degree held at Research Chapter in Snohomish on April 7th and one at University Chapter
on May 10th for those unavailable for the April Degree work. Companions if you have any candidates in need of this Degree here are 2 dates that hopefully
can be fit into their schedules. The host for the RAM Degree is yet to be decided but it was suggested that it be held at the RAM Park this coming July.
Is their any input for
this idea among the Chapters, The Grand Officers, and Grand Chapter Committee
Members.
Before I close I wish to Thank All who participated and
attended the making of this Degree work a success. There was by my count
including the
Candidates
approximately 30 members in attendance.

HINT 5: Corn: When boiling corn, cook for 3 minutes; any more time will only boil out the flavor. Instead of adding a pinch of salt to the boiling water, add a pinch of sugar to bring out the natural sweetness of the corn.
Jagerschnitzel
4 to 6 pork or veal chops
Flour seasoned to taste with salt, pepper and paprika
1 egg, lightly beaten with 1 Tablespoon water
Bread crumbs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 onion, chopped
1 Tablespoon butter
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
1 Tablespoon water
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Paprika to taste
1 lemon, cut into 6 slices
TO PREPARE: Cut excess fat from chops and pound slightly with meat mallet.
Dredge in flour, dip in egg mixture, and then dip in bread crumbs. Fry in
oil in a 10 inch skillet until done. Remove to a warm platter. In a separate
skillet, sauté onion in butter. Add mushrooms and lemon juice. Before
serving, add sour cream, water, salt, pepper and paprika. Pour over chops
and garnish with lemon slices. NOTE: Authentic German dish which is good
served with red cabbage, cottage fries and a cucumber salad. SERVINGS: 4 - 6

Grease on Tablecloth: To remove large amounts, first sprinkle cornstarch or talcum powder onto the stain and pat in. When grease is absorbed, brush off. Use a prewash spray to further treat any remaining stain and then wash in the hottest water okay for the fabric (check care label). Check the stained area before putting into the dryer to make sure stain is gone. If not, give it a second treatment.
Hem Comes Undone: If you are away from home, use these ideas for a quick fix: masking tape, safety pins or stapler. At home, you can repair the fallen hem with fabric glue, iron-on fusible tape or good old thread.
How to Make a Good Cup of Coffee: Start with fresh cold water. Use the correct of amount of coffee (usually 2 teaspoons per cup) and choose the proper grind for the method of brewing. Drink coffee when it's fresh (if it sits around too long, it doesn't taste good). Wash coffeepot as often as you can — don't let coffee oils build up.
Computer Keyboard Dirty? Shut computer off and disconnect keyboard. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake carefully to dislodge crumbs in between the keys. Then use the brush attachment of the vacuum to suck out any remaining bits. Use a small, soft, clean make-up brush for additional dusting. If keys are sticky, a lightly dampened cloth can remove the surface grime. Let dry before reconnecting to the computer.
Garage Smells Bad? First, find the source of any obviously stinky thing. To keep it smelling better, put several drops of cinnamon or clove oil on a cotton ball. Drop this into a plastic bag and poke some holes in it, so the scent can be released. Hang with a paper clip in the areas you want to freshen.
